How do I pack and ship my rug?

1. Vacuum and dry the rug. Vacuum both sides, shake out loose debris, and check the rug is fully dry before it is packed. Moisture sealed inside plastic can cause mildew in transit.
2. Roll it, pile side in. Roll the rug into a tight, even roll with the pile facing inward. Never fold it: hard creases can crack the foundation of antique and hand-knotted rugs.
3. Wrap the roll in plastic. Wrap the rolled rug in plastic sheeting or shrink wrap to keep moisture out in transit. For antique or handmade rugs, add a cardboard tube or a cardboard wrap for rigidity.
4. Choose the right carrier. FedEx and UPS handle rolled rugs under about 150 lbs. Heavier or oversized rugs travel by LTL freight or white-glove transport. Call us and we will help you choose before you pack.
5. Add a work order inside. Include a note with your name, phone, email, the dimensions, a brief description, and the work you want done, plus a clearly printed side mark or job name on the outside of the packaging.

What happens when my rug arrives?

Every arriving rug is unwrapped, inspected, logged, and photographed, and you get a written quote before any work begins.
