The difference

Why does full-immersion washing clean better than surface cleaning?

A rug holds far more soil than installed carpet, deep in its foundation and knots. Surface and in-home methods only touch the top of the pile. Full immersion flushes embedded grit, dust, and pet residue out of the whole rug with plenty of water, the method the IICRC, WoolSafe, and the Association of Rug Care Specialists recommend for fine rugs. Colors and softness come back that surface cleaning cannot reach.

Every rug is hand-washed, never run through a mass machine. You get a written report with photos and an estimate before we start, and most rugs are ready in 7 to 10 business days.

Fiber, dye stability, and condition are checked and photographed before any water touches the rug. You receive a written plan and estimate.

Rug care

How often should you have a rug cleaned?

Most rugs need professional cleaning every one to three years. Clean yearly if you have pets or heavy foot traffic, and clean entryway, kitchen, and hallway rugs more often. Low-use rugs, wall hangings, and tapestries usually need only a yearly dusting and a full wash every five to ten years. Many manufacturers recommend cleaning about every 12 months. The rule that holds up: clean a rug before it looks dirty, because trapped grit does its damage out of sight.

Above and beyond, friendly and supportive business owner and team! Amazing service! Devin took extra time to talk with me about my area rugs as they relate to our home lifestyle. He explained services to restore them to tip-top condition after they were impacted by our dog. They look new and the undesirable odors are gone. Also, a solution was offered to prevent our rugs from sliding on the floor and to offer more cushion beneath. It was beyond easy communicating with Devin and the store which is so appreciated!

We have a small rug that we purchased on a trip and was shipped to us. We noticed some of the tassels were loose and undone. Also, some corners looked pulled. The repair job was awesome! Everything was tightened up and tied where needed. This team is very professional and the price was reasonable. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them!

Devin and the team at Fiber Specialties provided excellent customer service and the rugs came out looking much better than I had hoped. I brought in several older rugs that had not been cleaned in years and they now look very clean and much more vivid in color. I am very satisfied with the cleaning and repair and the cost was reasonable. Devin took the time to teach me about the rugs I own and about the options for cleaning, stabilization and repair.

This company is amazing. I walked in there with the rug that I didn't think was possible to come clean. I had several carpet cleaners try and clean it and were unable. When I brought it home and rolled it out, it smelled brand new, looks brand new, and I've had this rug for approximately 10 years and it has very bright vibrant colors in it and it looks like the day I bought it.
