Rug cleaning

Hand-washed, full-immersion cleaning for every kind of rug. Our area rug cleaning pillar covers Oriental, Persian, wool, and antique & silk rugs, plus pet odor & stain removal.

Every rug is inspected, dusted, submerged and washed by hand, rinsed, dried under controlled conditions, and groomed before it goes home. That work happens at our facility rather than on your floor, because soil and pet contamination sit in the foundation of a rug where an on-location machine cannot reach them. See the full washing process.

Hand-knotted rugs

Dye-tested and hand-washed by Certified Master Rug Cleaners. Start with Oriental rug cleaning or Persian rug cleaning for how we handle knotted wool and silk construction.

Wool, antique & silk

Conservation-safe methods for fragile pieces, backed by WoolSafe and IICRC credentials. See wool rug cleaning and antique & silk rug cleaning.

Pet odor & stains

Urine soaks through to the backing, so it has to be flushed out rather than covered up. That is what pet odor & stain removal by full immersion does.

One facility, every service

Cleaning, repair, pads, and protection are all done in house in Boise, nothing is subcontracted out.

Rug repair & restoration

Our rug repair department handles restoration, binding, serging & fringe repair, and custom rug pads.

Chewed edges, unravelling fringe, a worn side cord, or a hole worked open by years of traffic are all repairable, and most of the work is done by hand at the same bench where the rug is finished. Because we inspect the rug once, cleaning and repair are quoted together in writing before anything starts.

You can see finished examples in our before & after gallery.

Aviation carpet & interiors

For private and corporate aircraft worldwide we offer aviation carpet cleaning, aircraft carpet repair, jet interior detailing, and aviation Fiber ProTector, using AVLM low-moisture methods on wool and silk cabin textiles.

A cabin cannot be flooded and cannot sit wet, so aviation work is a different discipline from washing a rug in a plant. Low-moisture methods clean wool and silk textiles and return the aircraft to service quickly, and the same Certified Master Rug Cleaner credentials apply on the ramp as on the wash floor.

Cabin carpet care

AVLM low-moisture cleaning for wool and silk cabin carpet and textiles. See aviation carpet cleaning.

Carpet repair

Seams, edges, and worn traffic areas repaired in place rather than replaced. See aircraft carpet repair.

Interior detailing

Leather, upholstery, and soft goods brought back with the carpet. See jet interior detailing.

Wool and silk, on the ground or in the air

The same certified hands that wash a hand-knotted rug care for a cabin interior.

Protection & specialty

Fiber ProTector® stain protection, aviation carpet & textile care, and nationwide ship-your-rug service.

Fiber ProTector is applied after cleaning, while the rug is still at the facility, so a freshly washed rug leaves already protected. If you are outside the Treasure Valley, we clean rugs shipped from anywhere in the country and guide you through packing and insured return shipping.

Questions about our services

What services does Fiber Specialties offer?

We provide full-immersion rug cleaning, rug repair and restoration, binding and fringe work, custom rug pads, Fiber ProTector textile protection, and aviation carpet and interior care. Everything is handled in our Boise facility by Certified Master Rug Cleaners rather than subcontracted out.

Do you clean wall-to-wall carpet in homes?

Our specialty is fine rugs cleaned by full immersion at our facility, plus aviation carpet and cabin textiles. For rugs, that facility process removes soil and pet contamination that on-location cleaning cannot reach, which is why we collect the rug rather than clean it in place.

Which service do I need for pet damage?

Pet urine and odor are handled by our rug odor and pet stain removal service, which flushes contamination out of the foundation by full immersion. If a pet has chewed or pulled edges, that is repair work, and the two are often quoted together.

Can one rug get several services at once?

Yes, and it is common. A single rug may be cleaned, have its fringe or binding repaired, be treated with Fiber ProTector, and be paired with a new custom pad. We inspect the rug once and quote all the recommended work together in writing.

Not sure which service your rug needs?

Send it in for a free written inspection, we quote cleaning, repair, and protection together, with no obligation.
