What is AVLM (Aircraft Very Low Moisture) cleaning?
AVLM is the method built for aircraft interiors. It uses pH-neutral solutions and very little hot distilled water to encapsulate fine soil at the nano-particle level, then lifts it through specialized dry extraction, without over-wetting the textiles. That control matters: over-wetting an aircraft interior risks shrinkage, matting, backing delamination, mold, water intrusion under the carpet, and corrosion of hardware. AVLM removes those risks. It leaves no residue, does not promote re-soiling, and it even removes residue left behind by other cleaners. Carpets and textiles are typically dry within a few hours of completion. AVLM is an IICRC- and CRI-approved process.

Why aircraft carpet can’t be cleaned like home carpet
Most residential and mobile cleaners work on synthetic home carpet, and their equipment, chemicals, and techniques reflect that. Aircraft cabins are different. The carpet is usually wool or a wool-and-silk blend, the interior finishes are delicate, and the whole textile package has to meet aviation standards home carpet never does. Downtime is expensive, so much of the work happens on wing, cleaning and restoring the carpet without removing it from the aircraft, which keeps the aircraft in service. When a deeper reset is called for, textiles can be cleaned out of the aircraft as well. Either way the AVLM method keeps moisture controlled and drying fast, so an aircraft is ready to fly rather than grounded for a wash.
